Tara - Female Buddha Of Compassion In Action â Ven. Robina Courtin
In Tibetan Buddhism, Tara, representing the female form of compassion in action, was born from tears of Chenrezig, the male Buddha representing the compassion of all the Buddhas. In the public talk on Friday, Ven. Robina introduces how tantric meditation, visualization, mantra recitation, and prayer can help us to achieve union with a deity such as Tara, to remove obstacles to the spiritual path and more quickly develop the positive potential of the mind. During the meditation retreat, Ven. Robina guides us through Tara sadhanas or practices, including the mantra OM TARE TUTTARE TURE SOHA.
Pubic talk and retreat: June 24-26, 2011 at Jewel Heart Center, New York City.
Sponsored by Shantideva Meditation (FPMT-NYC) as part of its series, Cultivating the Good Heart: Tibetan Buddhist Teachings on Compassion & Wisdom. For more information: firstname.lastname@example.org.
